Business Support Manager | Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

Please note

at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Manager to join the leadership team within our Long Term and Specialist Services portfolio. This diverse portfolio includes services across West Kent.

This is a busy, varied role working closely with multiple managers and teams, requiring excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Project experience and familiarity with QSIR tools would be an advantage. You will manage your own workload, support the AD/HOS with scheduling, coordinate meetings and events, and ensure key reporting deadlines are met. A significant part of the role involves extracting, analysing and interpreting data, so advanced IT skills and working knowledge of systems such as Datix, Rio and HealthRoster are essential.

You will play a key role in supporting the Business Unit, monitoring performance data, and contributing to contract and KPI delivery. Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders are vital. We will provide the training and support you need to thrive in a role where no two days are the same.

Please note, this vacancy does not meet the criteria for skilled worker sponsorship. Therefore, we are unable to accept applications from candidates that cannot provide documentary evidence of right to work in the United Kingdom.

In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for all complex service enquiries, assessing, resolving or escalating concerns as appropriate. You will build strong working relationships across the organisation and wider system, ensuring issues are managed effectively and resources are used appropriately. A key part of the role is ensuring the smooth operation of the service through comprehensive administrative and coordination duties. This includes organising meetings and events, preparing agendas, taking confidential formal minutes, recording clear actions and supporting their implementation.

You will manage a wide range of tasks such as supporting senior managers, coordinating workloads, completing audits and surveys, and analysing business performance information to inform improvements. The post is based at Heathside or Sevenoaks and requires travel to other sites, including supporting the Neighbourhood Health Programme, working with Primary Care in West Kent and Ashford, and collaborating with East Kent Long Term Services.

You will need advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel. Creative thinking is essential, as you will produce, interpret and present data for reports and projects across multiple services and partner organisations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively are vital to success in this varied and impactful role.
