This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to take the lead within a beautiful, luxury nursing home by the sea – It offers a spacious and elegant environment where exceptional standards extend beyond care to every part of the resident experience - including the food.

As Head Chef, you'll have the opportunity to create a premium dining experience that residents genuinely look forward to. From thoughtfully planned daily menus to beautifully presented dishes and special occasions, you'll ensure food is nutritious, varied, and tailored to individual tastes and needs.

Previous care home catering experience is essential, as you'll need a strong understanding of specialist diets, allergies, nutrition, and hydration. You'll also lead and inspire the kitchen team, maintaining exceptional standards while creating a positive and well-organised working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager, or Senior Chef within a care or nursing home.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team.
  • Passion for delivering a premium, high-quality dining experience.
  • Excellent understanding of nutrition and hydration within an older person's care setting.
  • Knowledge of specialist and texture-modified diets.
  • Strong understanding of allergies, intolerances, and individual dietary requirements.
  • Excellent food hygiene and kitchen management standards.
  • Ability to create varied, nutritious, and visually appealing menus.

Your Role

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
  • Lead, support, and develop the catering team.
  • Create imaginative and nutritious menus that reflect residents' preferences and dietary needs.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
  • Ensure specialist diets, allergies, and hydration requirements are carefully managed.
  • Work closely with care and nursing teams to respond to residents' changing nutritional needs.
  • Manage stock, ordering, budgets, and food waste effectively.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance.
  • Help make mealtimes and special occasions memorable for residents and their families.
