Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Smethwick, is looking to recruit an experienced Wet Paint Sprayer to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes and enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Standard Hours

Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

  • During peak production periods, including January, you will be required to work a rotating shift pattern:
  • 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm - 10:00pm
  • 20% shift allowance paid whilst working the rotating shifts.

Applicants must be flexible and willing to work the required shift pattern to meet production and customer demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean and mask metal components prior to painting.
  • Mix paints accurately in line with technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Apply high-quality wet paint finishes using manual spray equipment.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and quality standards.
  • Carry out paint quality checks, including:
  • Adhesion testing
  • Colour matching
  • Paint thickness measurements
  • Viscosity testing
  • Ensure complete primer and paint coverage across all products.
  • Safely handle paints, thinners and associated materials in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to meet production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with other production duties, including preparation, inspection and packing, when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who has

  • Previous experience as a Wet Paint Sprayer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience using water-based paint systems.
  • Lacquer spraying experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
  • Experience carrying out paint inspections and quality control checks.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and changing production requirements.
  • A positive attitude with a strong focus on quality, safety and reliability.
