About this role

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced clinicians to join our team in the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, and the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Paediatric pool with MSF France. This role involves paired 6-month postings in the CED and in the field with MSF on two separate contracts.

In the CED, Senior Clinical Fellows will be responsible for the initial assessment and management of acutely unwell and injured children who self-present to the Children’s Emergency Department or who are referred by their GP. They will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team in the Children’s Emergency Department to provide excellent care to children from our local area and around the South-West.

In the field with MSF, they will have the opportunity to work in an international humanitarian organisation to respond to critical situations such as measles epidemics, nutritional crises or displaced populations. Alongside providing medical care for acutely unwell infants and children, their role will require managerial and administrative skills as they lead and train teams of healthcare staff. They will be supported by supervisors in Bristol CED who also work as MSF Paediatric Advisors.

Posts commence March 2027 and are for a 12-month duration (6 months CED, 6 months MSF).
