About this role

Purpose of the role

The Commercial Advisor role is entry level into an evolving, dynamic and progressive Commercial function allowing for career progression. Therefore, there is no requirement to have pre-existing experience in a Commercial role, but candidates must be able to demonstrate the Key Behaviours and Competencies below.

What you'll be doing

  • Specifically in relation to the Commercial Advisor role within Capita area of responsibility, provide assistance and support to your Commercial line management where directed in relation to:
  • Assisting the sales team to secure profitable and deliverable new business
  • Providing commercial support in deal shaping, negotiations & contracting
  • Reviewing pricing of existing and new business proposals to ensure they are aligned with company margin, risk and contingency provisions
  • Ensuring all customer and supplier bids/contracts are approved and reviewed in line with deal approval governance and policy prior to submission/signature
  • Identifying, managing and reporting on key commercial / legal risks (legal risks to be communicated to Legal function and ongoing appropriate support / liaison to be maintained)
  • Reviewing, interpreting, and advising on existing contract rights and obligations (with escalation to your Commercial line management where applicable)
  • Supporting change management of contracts including production of contract variations
  • Supporting production of regular contract reporting in line with governance and contract requirements
  • Ensuring that contract records are maintained and accessible as directed
  • Recording, ratifying and circulating commercial / negotiation meeting minutes when required
  • Supporting the business by owning and performing the ongoing admin of contracts (including providing required support to your commercial line management in relation to the provision of contractual templates / tool kits, and delivering notices)
  • Supporting of sub-contractor relationship management.
  • Supporting of due diligence and MI / audit data request activities

  • Excellent computer literacy skills
