Position Summary
Reporting directly to senior management, the Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing the companys procurement strategy, ensuring reliable supply, competitive costs, and strong supplier partnerships while supporting successful project delivery.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role within a dynamic project-driven environment.
The position is responsible for all ordinary activities of the purchasing department: day by day activities, procurement, price list management, intercompany prices management, purchasing office clerk management,
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation components.
- Lead supplier negotiation, and performance management.
- Contribute to supplier selection and qualification.
- Support project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery performance.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Establish procurement KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Finance.
- Develop, standardize, and coordinate procurement policies across different regions and production sites, ensuring consistency and efficiency in processes.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation and process optimization.
- Ensure that global procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and align with the company’s sustainability goals. Lead and mentor the global procurement team, fostering a new culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Technical Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, automation, infrastructure, or project-based environments.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with direct accountability for procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain performance.
- Experience in industrial automation, material handling, airport systems, logistics equipment, manufacturing, or large capital projects
- Proven track record negotiating significant supplier agreements and commercial contracts
- Proven responsibility for cost control, margin improvement, or business performance.
- Experience managing supplier risk, quality, and delivery performance.
- Strong understanding of project-based businesses where procurement directly impacts project execution and profitability.
- Proven track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives and improving procurement processes.
General requirements
- University Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong quality sensibility as well as process improvement skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Language skills
- Italian language skills are a plus.

Work Environment
This job can be adequately performed remotely. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as laptop computers, cell phones, and email.
