This Good Ofsted-rated nursery is looking for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to work alongside the Nursery Manager, helping to lead a passionate team and maintain exceptional standards of care and education.

The setting combines a warm, homely atmosphere with exciting opportunities for children to discover, create, and learn through play. Outdoor learning is a big part of nursery life, with adventurous play spaces and even a dedicated allotment giving children the freedom to explore nature, get hands-on, and develop confidence in the world around them.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll be a visible and supportive leader across the nursery. From mentoring practitioners and monitoring the quality of practice to supporting the day-to-day operation of the setting, you'll play an important role in ensuring both children and colleagues have the environment they need to flourish.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience within a senior early years leadership position.
  • Experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager, Third in Charge
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child protection requirements.
  • Confidence leading, motivating, and developing an early years team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive approach to maintaining and improving quality across the nursery.
  • A genuine passion for creating exceptional experiences for children and their families.

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day leadership and operation of the nursery.
  • Lead, motivate, and support practitioners to maintain consistently high standards of care and education.
  • Monitor practice across the nursery and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
  • Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback.
  • Ensure the nursery operates in line with the EYFS framework, safeguarding requirements, and nursery policies.
  • Help create engaging environments where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop independence.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Support recruitment, inductions, and the ongoing development of the nursery team.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence.
