Job Description

To support the Environmental Health Section in monitoring and improving the quality and infrastructure of private water supplies across Moray.

Requirements

Under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure Check.

Responsibilities

To take programmed water samples in accordance the provisions of relevant Private Water Supply Regulations

To assist in the monitoring of water quality in swimming pools and other waters.

Take non programmed water samples from private supplies in accordance with the relevant Private Water Supply Regulations and swimming pools as instructed.

Gather information on Private Supply networks and properties served.

Liaise with other Departments and Agencies.

To carry out other duties which may be required from time to time.

Contributing to the effectiveness of the Service.

The Individual

Experience of working within a Customer focused environment

Educated to Scottish National 5 level or equivalent, including any STEM subject

Competent use of IT equipment, software and effective keyboard skills

Ability to prioritise tasks and to work to deadlines

Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an effective team

Effective record keeping skills

Self confident and motivated

Attention to detail in the processing of information

Observation skills

Ability to write letters and report

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van

Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a range of parties

Willingness to accept direction/delegation

A commitment to deliver quality services to an agreed standard

There is a requirement to access various rural locations often on foot . This can require a good level of fitness.

Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service

Appreciation, acceptance and commitment to the importance of confidentiality

£14.68 per hour

21.75 hours per week
