We are now looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our team, based on-site at Numatic's Head Office, playing a key role in managing the day-to-day transport operation and maintaining a strong customer relationship.
Job DescriptionAs the Senior Transport Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily transport activities for a key customer account. Acting as the main on-site point of contact, you will work closely with the customer and internal operational teams to ensure the efficient planning and execution of transport requirements. This role combines customer relationship management with transport planning and operational coordination, requiring excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. You will play a vital role in maintaining service levels, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee transport operations for Numatic, supporting the effective management of activity levels and ensuring a seamless transition between the requirements and final solution.
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for the customer, building strong working relationships and ensuring effective communication between the customer and the wider Gregory business.
- Plan and coordinate daily transport requirements and load scheduling, working closely with operational teams across the business to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Meet regularly with the operational stakeholders and customer representatives to review performance, maintain operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work on-site at the customer's Head Office to provide operational support and strengthen the customer relationship.
- Identify and develop opportunities to enhance service delivery, add value to the operation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate vehicle routing and scheduling activities to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective transport solutions.
- Ensure all transport requirements are fulfilled in line with customer expectations, making effective use of wider business resources where required.
- Maintain excellent communication with the customer and Gregory management, providing accurate and timely operational information.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
- Adhere at all times to Company Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and professionalism, including the consistent use of company uniform and required PPE in line with the rules and procedures of both the Gregory and Numatic.
