Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Full-Time Sandwell, West Midlands Competitive Pay | Full-Time | September Start AvailableAre you a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a specialist school setting?A highly regarded specialist school in Sandwell is looking to appoint a number of full-time Teaching Assistants to support pupils across several classes due to ongoing growth within the school.This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs in a nurturing, well-resourced environment.About the RoleThere are multiple vacancies available across the school, providing opportunities to work with pupils with a variety of needs, including:

  • PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
  • SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Complex communication needs
  • Physical disabilities
  • Medical needs
  • Sensory impairments
  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs

Depending on your experience and interests, you may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or as part of a classroom team.The school is looking for compassionate individuals who can help pupils develop their communication, independence, social skills and confidence whilst supporting them to access a tailored curriculum.Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with learning and developmental activities
  • Encouraging communication, independence and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Supporting pupils with personal care where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment
  • Adapting support to meet individual pupil needs
