MGM Muthu Hotels is a global hospitality group with a diverse portfolio of hotels across the UK and internationally. We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to support finance operations across multiple UK hotel properties and work closely with senior finance leadership in maintaining strong financial controls, compliance, and performance oversight.
This role is ideal for a finance professional looking to develop within a multi-site hotel environment while gaining exposure to strategic and operational finance.
The Role
The Assistant Finance Manager will be based in our Glasgow office and will support day-to-day finance operations across several hotels, with a strong focus on financial controls, compliance, reporting accuracy, and audit support. The role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with hotel management teams and central finance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and financial reports for multiple hotel properties.
Support balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and reporting accuracy.
Assist with financial analysis, variance investigation, and performance commentary.
Support the preparation of annual hotel budgets and periodic forecasts.
Assist with monitoring budget variances and preparing analysis for management review.
Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in line with company policies and accounting standards.
Support compliance with UK tax laws, financial regulations, and internal controls.
Assist with statutory audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.
Support internal audits and the implementation of effective control measures across hotels.
Assist with monitoring hotel cash flow and liquidity.
Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Assist in maintaining and improving financial systems, processes, and controls.
Support the implementation and optimisation of finance systems and reporting tools.
Support hotel management teams with financial information and guidance.
Assist with accounts receivable and payable oversight, credit control, and supplier payments.
Support payroll processing and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assist with identifying financial risks and escalating issues appropriately.
