A lovely elderly couple residing in the picturesque village of Windle, St Helens, Merseyside, are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Housekeeper Cook to become an integral part of their household from October. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the overall day-to-day running of the household, ensuring the home remains beautifully presented, organised and welcoming at all times. Duties will include housekeeping, laundry, ironing, preparing fresh home-cooked meals, monitoring household supplies and undertaking occasional errands to ensure the smooth operation of the home.

The principals are kind, respectful and genuinely value the work of domestic professionals. They offer a structured workload, realistic expectations and a pleasant working atmosphere where professionalism, discretion and reliability are greatly appreciated. Daily carers attend the property to provide support for the principals, allowing the Housekeeper Cook to focus solely on domestic responsibilities whilst working harmoniously alongside other members of the household team.

The family welcomes applications from candidates seeking either a live-in or live-out position. For a live-in professional, comfortable private accommodation comprising a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom within the main house will be provided. Whilst the household does not currently have any pets, the family may consider accommodating a candidate with a well-behaved cat or small dog, provided full responsibility for the pet remains with the employee.

Main duties of the Housekeeper/Cook

Complete housekeeping to a high standard throughout the property.

Daily cleaning and maintenance of all rooms.

Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care.

Preparing simple, nutritious home-cooked meals.

Maintaining excellent household organisation.

Monitoring household supplies and replenishing essentials.

Running occasional household errands and shopping.

Liaising professionally with the carers when required.

Reporting maintenance issues to the principals.

Ensuring the household operates efficiently on a daily basis.

Providing general household support as required.
