What you will do

Complex Assessments

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with complex care and support needs.

Care Planning

Develop and implement person-centred interventions that maximise independence and improve outcomes.

Risk Management

Make robust decisions regarding risk, safeguarding, and appropriate care pathways for individuals with complex needs.

Practice Leadership

Act as a recognised specialist within your field, providing expert guidance, advice, and support to colleagues.

Service Development

Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and best practice standards within Adult Health and Social Care.

Multi-Disciplinary Working

Work collaboratively with health professionals, social workers, carers, and partner agencies to coordinate effective support.

Team Support

Support the Team Manager and provide professional leadership to Occupational Therapists, Sensory Impairment Practitioners, and Equipment Services staff.

Managerial Responsibilities

Undertake delegated management duties and support operational service delivery when required.

Safeguarding

Lead and contribute to safeguarding interventions, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

Occupational Therapy Qualification

Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.

Registration

Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

Experience

Significant post-registration experience within Adult Social Care, Community Services, or Complex Care settings.

Advanced Practice Skills

Demonstrable experience managing complex cases and making autonomous professional decisions.

Leadership Experience

Experience providing leadership, supervision, mentoring, or support to multidisciplinary teams.

Legislative Knowledge

Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.

Communication Skills

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Driving Requirement

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
