About this role

YJMO/387 Part-Time Personal Assistant in YO24 £12.71ph

Personal Assistants support people to live well. They provide the right support at the right time to help others to live their best lives. Is this you? Do you want a job that is rewarding and fulfilling?

The job

The role is to support a 32-year old man who has a mild learning disability and mild Autism. He lives with his dad in the Acomb area of York. He is a gentle, friendly person, and enjoys working with his PA’s. He would like a Personal Assistant to support him for 6 hours at a regular time each week — on Thursday during the daytime.

He is interested in all aspects of film. He is involved in the York Shakespeare Project, and made his debut with them last year acting in a run of five performances. He also likes photography, and reading books. He enjoys going to see live music, particularly at the 45 Vinyl Cafe. He does a weekly nature walk at St Nicks Nature Reserve.

Duties

The Personal Assistant will support the client to develop skills in the home, follow his creative pursuits, help him take steps towards employment, and enable him to broaden my social activities. The PA will also help him in gaining confidence to take more control of his life.
