Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist- North Warwickshire Early Intervention Service

22.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Clinical or Counselling psychologist to join our North Warwickshire Early Intervention Service. The service provides biopsychosocial interventions for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis or at risk mental state (ARMS). The service also provides carers support and Behavioural Family Therapy for families of individuals experiencing first episode of psychosis or ARMS.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for leading and overseeing psychological provision provided by others in the service. This will involve undertaking psychological assessments and formulations and the delivery of evidence based therapies for individuals with psychosis or ARMS and supervising others delivering therapies in the service.

The other psychological professionals in the team consist of a Senior Psychologist, CBTp Therapist and an Assistant Psychologist. The service has strong links with the Coventry and Warwickshire Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course. Therefore you will also be expected to support clinical psychology trainees and other psychological professionals in their training and development. Research is also highly valued and we welcome people who support our research vision.

You will also be expected to provide leadership and oversight around service development. You will need to work collaboratively with your peers and the leadership team across the Early Intervention Service to support with the National Clinical Audit of Psychosis (NCAP) standards.

The psychological professionals’ team are dedicated to delivering evidence based therapies of CBT for psychosis and trauma focused therapies. Therefore for the post holder a recognised qualification, current training or commitment to undertake training in CBT for psychosis is highly desirable. In addition to holding a current professional registration with the HCPC as a clinical or counselling psychologist it would also be advantageous for the post holder to be BABCP accredited or willing to work towards accreditation.

Staff from the North Warwickshire Early Intervention Service have close links with other psychological professionals within the Trust though service development meetings, specialist interest groups, CPD events and our Annual Psychological Services Conference.
