Tuesday 15 September 2026 Why you should join our Team Employing over 270 Consultant Anaesthetists, each with their own subspecialty interest, the Department of Anaesthesia is based across two sites at St James’ Hospital and the Leeds General Infirmary. Shared secretarial assistance is also provided, as is shared office accommodation and personal computer access. Specialist/Senior Registrars are attached to the department as part of their training. Weekly tutorials take place on weekly at 2 pm on a rolling basis. Weekly departmental meetings take place on Thursday lunchtimes at LGI or St James. Regular departmental meetings are held on Fridays in the anaesthetic department at the LGI and the Trust’s monthly rolling audit programme is in place; half day on both sides of the city for whole department and separate subspecialities.
