Are you based in or around Shotton?

We have an initially temporary Loading Team Member role available within Tata Steels Building Systems site in Shotton. This role is ideal for someone with good communication skills who is punctual, safety conscious and a proficient FLT Counterbalance Driver with sideloading experience.

Rate

£14.75ph (inclusive of 10% shift allowance)

Overtime available at £22.13ph

Contract length

6 months initially

Shift Patterns

37.5 hours per week, There is a two week shift pattern

Week 1 6am - 2pm - Monday - Fri

Week 2 - 2pm - 10pm Monday to Thursday and 11am - 7pm Friday.

Start

Feb 2026, pending the successful result of a medical which does include a Drug and Alcohol test

Responsibilities

Operating FLT Counterbalance to load and unload steel product within the factory

Using a sideloader counterbalance to handle long loads

Recognising product ranges to ensure accurate and prompt selection

Assisting the Warehouse Operations and Packing teams

Handling material in the form of labelling, storing and checking stock records

Storing steel product in compliance with Tatas standards and procedures

Conducting quality checks on inbound material

Checking that picked items are accurate at all times

Ensuring productivity and performance targets are consistent and met

Basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks as required

Adhering to Health and Safety procedures at all times and operating within a Safe Systems Of Work (SSOW)

Essential requirements

FLT Counterbalance experience (2+ years)

FLT licence (indate, external) desirable but not essential as inhouse refresher will be given

Experience within a Warehouse, Manufacturing and/or Production environment (2+ years)

Sound verbal and written communication skills

Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation

Ability to follow risk assessments and safe systems of work

Ability to work independently as well as supporting team members
