About this role
Your new company
A leading organisation is seeking a Supply Chain Operations professional to join its Supply Chain Support team on a fixed-term basis. The team plays a central role in managing a wide range of inventory, logistics and reverse supply chain activities, supporting customer-facing functions and working closely with internal stakeholders across supply chain, procurement, product and partnership teams.
Operating within a fast-paced environment, the team is responsible for handling customer queries, processing orders and returns, managing stock movements and supporting the efficient flow of products throughout the supply chain. The focus is on delivering excellent service, recovering assets, reducing financial risk and maintaining a positive customer experience.
Your new role
As a Supply Chain Operations Specialist, you will support the day-to-day management of supply chain and logistics processes, ensuring high standards of service, accuracy and compliance are maintained at all times. You will be responsible for handling a variety of customer and operational enquiries relating to stock management, returns, deliveries and order processing.
Your role will involve managing return stock activities, resolving delivery issues, supporting courier claims, processing equipment charges and investigating stock and order discrepancies. You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to coordinate outbound deliveries, manage exchange stock requirements and support issue resolution within agreed service levels.
A key part of the position will be monitoring supply chain processes and systems, identifying issues and escalating them where appropriate. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on process enhancements that support efficiency, cost control and customer satisfaction. Throughout your work, you will maintain customer confidentiality and follow established policies, procedures and verification processes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Supply Chain Operations role, you will have strong customer service and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You will be comfortable handling a broad range of supply chain, inventory and logistics-related queries and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and external partners. The ability to listen, understand requirements and communicate clearly will be important in supporting customers and resolving operational issues.
Previous experience handling personal and confidential information with a high degree of accuracy is essential. You will also be able to balance performance targets and service standards while maintaining a customer-focused approach. Experience working within operational, logistics, customer service, inventory management or supply chain environments will be highly beneficial.
What you'll get in return
You will have the opportunity to join a collaborative supply chain team that plays an important role in supporting customers and business operations. This position offers exposure to a broad range of supply chain, inventory management, logistics and customer service activities, providing valuable experience within a complex operational environment.
You will be working on a 12-month temporary contract, starting immediately and the rate of pay is between £17-£22 per hour. The role is based in Darlington, North East England and offers a hybrid working model with 3 days from the office and 2 days working from home.
