What skills and experience we're looking for

About the role

St John Bosco College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning and Pastoral Support Coordinator to join our ASD Base team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a meaningful difference to their educational experience and wellbeing.

Working closely with the ASD Base Lead and wider school staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic progress, emotional development, and personal growth. You will provide targeted mentoring, coordinate support programmes, and ensure that every student is given the opportunity to thrive in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality mentoring and targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, particularly those facing barriers to learning
  • Monitor, track, and review pupil progress, ensuring high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement
  • Coordinate daily timetables and oversee pupil-focused administrative processes
  • Support the ASD Base Lead in planning, data tracking, and preparing for EHCP reviews and meetings
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure effective classroom support and consistent provision
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupils holistically
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion across the school community
