About this role
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are currently seeking a PE Technician to support our PE Department and assist with extra-curricular activities and duties, clubs and fixtures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sport and have experience of coaching and motivating young people to achieve the best they can. Experience of coaching rugby in particular would be advantageous.
The PE Department currently consists of seven full-time members of teaching staff and two sports coaches who support extra-curricular activities. The dedicated staff work as a strong team and meet regularly in order to share ideas and resources in order to raise standards. Sport has a strong visual presence in the school which is recognised and celebrated at all key stages.
The department’s facilities include a two-storey sports hall which comprises of a main sports hall, a dance studio and a well-equipped fitness room. The department also has two all-weather surfaces areas, two additional hard surface areas for tennis or netball and one new tennis court which was completed a few years ago. Our playing fields accommodate two football pitches and one rugby pitch in the winter, and a 400m track, long jump and high jump areas, three rounders pitches and a softball pitch in the summer.
We are looking for good leadership and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a supportive team. A current, clean driving license of over 3 years is essential.
