What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a warm, creative and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential. You will share our inclusive ethos and be committed to helping every child feel valued, supported and successful.

The successful candidate will

  • Have experience of supporting children's learning, either within the classroom, in small groups or through 1:1 intervention.
  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children, promoting confidence, independence and self-esteem.
  • Demonstrate a patient, nurturing and flexible approach, adapting support to meet individual learning and communication needs.
  • Have an understanding of, or a willingness to develop knowledge of, supporting children with communication and interaction needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Be committed to promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, building strong relationships with colleagues, families and external professionals where appropriate.
  • Be enthusiastic about contributing to our specialist Resource Base, while recognising that it is an integral part of our inclusive school community.
  • Share our commitment to high expectations for all pupils and believe that every child can flourish, regardless of their starting point.
