  • Maintain effective databases for Antenatal and Newborn Screening ensuring that working procedures relating to Data protection are adhered too.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained and provide statistical information to the Antenatal & Newborn Screening Coordinator on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Use own initiative to identify deviations from expected pathways, taking actions to prevent screening incidents where possible and escalating issues to Antenatal & Newborn Screening Specialist Midwives / Matrons / Consultants as necessary.
  • Use own initiative to identify missing antenatal appointments (specifically 20 week fetal anomaly scan appointments) and rectify in conjunction with the administrative team.
  • Ensure that all patients eligible for antenatal and newborn screening are invited during the required screening timeframe.
  • Ensure all patients who do not attend are managed and referred to the correct pathway for onward management.
  • Monitor the Newborn screening process to ensure all babies are screened within required timeframe and escalate non-compliance.
  • Input and maintain audit trails to demonstrate compliance with required Failsafe measures.
  • Responsible for the quality of the data and will participate in regular data cleansing exercises and liaising with staff from other organisations involved in the programme.
  • Responsible for the designing, improvement, maintenance and monitoring of failsafe administration procedures.
