£13.10 per hour - Increasing to up to £13.81 after 12 weeks

The role

As a Support Worker – Deaf Services, you will be part of a close-knit team delivering day-to-day care and guidance to young people who are profoundly deaf.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting individuals with daily living activities in a residential care setting
  • Using visual communication, AAC tools and developing BSL skills to engage effectively
  • Encouraging participation in education, hobbies and community activities, including Deaf events
  • Assisting with the smooth running of the home, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
  • Working collaboratively with external organisations and specialist services
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for each individual

Skills and experience

To be considered for the Support Worker – Deaf Services role, you will ideally have

  • Experience in care, support work, residential care or a similar setting (support worker, care assistant, key worker or youth worker)
  • A genuine interest in supporting deaf individuals and willingness to learn British Sign Language
  • Good communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach
  • A creative and proactive mindset when supporting young people’s development
