Procurement Manager (Fresh Produce - County Armagh - £45,000 + Benefits
The Job
An opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and procurement of potatoes for a growing business within the fresh produce sector. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, forecasting seasonal requirements and ensuring a consistent supply of high quality produce to meet production demands. This role would also suit an ambitious Buyer looking to step into their first management position.
Key responsibilities
- Procure potatoes to meet production, quality and commercial objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to achieve the best value
- Manage procurement budgets while monitoring market trends and pricing
- Forecast seasonal requirements and support production planning
- Coordinate storage planning and stock management activities
- Work closely with agronomy, production, and senior management teams to maximise supply chain efficiency
- Produce procurement reports, market analysis, and performance data to support commercial decision making
- Contribute to procurement strategy and continuous improvement initiatives

The Candidate
- Previous experience as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, Buyer or similar procurement role
- Experience sourcing potatoes, fresh produce, agricultural commodities, or raw materials within the food manufacturing sector
- Strong commercial negotiation, supplier management, and market analysis skills
- Excellent planning, organisational, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Proactive approach with strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Experience using procurement systems and Microsoft Office, ambitious Buyers looking to progress into a management role are encouraged to apply
