We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join a specialist education setting near Guildford, Surrey, where every student is supported to achieve their potential through personalised learning and therapeutic support.

8:30am - 4:00pm

Please note

A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to the school's location.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you'll provide practical and emotional support to students with complex mental health needs and additional learning needs. Working alongside teachers and other professionals, you'll help create an environment where students feel safe, understood and motivated to succeed.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Supporting pupils on an individual and small-group basis.
  • Encouraging positive engagement with learning and daily routines.
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and emotional resilience.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering personalised learning activities.
  • Promoting a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEN.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in education, care or SEN is welcomed but not essential.
  • Weekly PAYE pay.
