About this role

The main duties for our reception areas include the following, but is not an exhaustive list which you will undertake when on reception duty To welcome, receive and greet all visitors to the area, providing the first point of contact for all service users, resolving routine enquiries and complaints professionally and in accordance with Departmental and Trust standards and procedures, referring other queries to relevant colleagues where appropriate. Responsible for implementing, updating and maintaining both manual and electronic systems and databases according to Trust policies and procedures. Be responsible for dealing with all calls received from patients & families in a professional manner, ensuring telephone standards are met. Ensure all patients parents/carers are furnished with the relevant information documentation and advised as to the appropriate contact for further assistance. Be responsible for ensuring all communications associated with the appointment process e.g. with Clinicians, patients, GPs and relatives etc. are undertaken in an expeditious and appropriate manner. Assist with training new team members in operational Departmental and Trust Procedures. Prioritising daily tasks to achieve set timescales. Collate, input and monitor department documentation and information to assist with the production of monthly reports. Provide appropriate cover in the absence of other members of the team.
