Are you an experienced Children's Residential Team Leader looking for your next challenge?
We're recruiting for a temporary Team Leader to join a warm, therapeutic children's home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a trauma-informed service where you'll have the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
About the Home
This service is a welcoming residential home caring for up to four children and young people. The home currently supports three young people, aged 15–16 years (two females and one male), providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where they can build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards positive futures.
The Role
As Team Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home while leading by example and maintaining high standards of care.
Your responsibilities will include
• Leading shifts and supporting the staff team to deliver outstanding care.
• Providing therapeutic, trauma-informed support to children and young people with EBD.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
• Supporting behaviour management using positive and restorative approaches.
• Completing care planning, incident reports, and other administrative duties.
• Ensuring safeguarding and Ofsted standards are consistently met.
• Supporting, mentoring, and supervising Residential Support Workers.
• Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals.
• Promoting independence, resilience, and positive outcomes for young people.
The role includes approximately 80% shift work and 20% dedicated administration time, with a rota that includes evenings and weekends.
If you're passionate about therapeutic childcare and have the experience to lead a dedicated team, we'd love to hear from you.
