Summary

A private family is seeking an experienced live-in housekeeper to join their household in Oxshott.

This is a long-term position working alongside another housekeeper to support two private residences located approximately 10 minutes apart. The family’s main residence is based within the Crown Estate.

You will be based in a newly built five-bedroom home, where you will have your own private bedroom and ensuite. The property is home to an elderly gentleman who lives independently.

The role is primarily focused on maintaining both homes to a high standard, working as part of a small, well-run household team.

The Household Environment

The gentleman is independent but values a well-run, comfortable home and having someone around during the day.

This is not a care role. However, the family are looking for a housekeeper who is naturally warm, attentive and happy to take a thoughtful approach within the home. This includes preparing simple meals or refreshments and being a friendly, steady presence day to day.

This role would suit someone who combines strong housekeeping standards with a calm and personable manner.

The family’s main residence is home to three Airedales, so a genuine love of dogs is important.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Duties

• Full housekeeping across both private residences
• Maintaining all areas to a consistently high standard
• Laundry and ironing, including careful fabric care
• Wardrobe organisation and general household organisation
• Kitchen and bathroom upkeep
• Monitoring household supplies and replenishing as needed
• Preparing the homes for the principals and occasional guests

Additional Duties

• Preparing simple meals and refreshments
• Occasional driving and household errands
• Light outdoor upkeep such as entrances and terraces
• Assisting with contractors or deliveries when required

Requirements

• Proven experience working within private households
• High standards of housekeeping with strong attention to detail
• A calm, capable and professional approach
• A warm and personable nature
• Comfortable in a home with an elderly gentleman
• Able to work both independently and as part of a small team
• Flexible and adaptable
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Legal right to work in the UK
