About this role
Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity exists to support exceptional patient care across the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust by funding enhancements that go beyond NHS provision. The Fundraising Assistant plays a central role in the charitys operations, contributing to supporter care, administrative efficiency and the smooth delivery of fundraising activities. This role is based within the Fundraising Office at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, ensuring the post holder is accessible to colleagues, supporters and fundraisers and able to provide timely inperson support. To maintain reliable cover for enquiries and to support continuity of donor care, the post holder will work their agreed hours across 45 days per week. Working as part of a small, friendly team, the Fundraising Assistant will help maintain accurate donor records, support the processing of charitable income and assist with preparations for fundraising events, materials and communications. They will contribute to a welcoming environment for visitors and supporters and play a key role in helping donors feel valued. The post holder will frequently be the first point of contact for the charity, engaging with supporters via telephone, email, social media and facetoface interactions. They will ensure messages are handled professionally and routed appropriately, supporting effective communication and excellent stewardship. The role also involves assisting with meeting preparation, supporting administrative aspects of campaigns and activities, and helping ensure that charity processes are well coordinated and compliant with relevant policies and regulations. The post holder will be expected to manage their workload, work to agreed deadlines and adapt to changing priorities within a busy environment. There may be occasional requirements to support activities outside core office hours, with TOIL provided. This is a varied and rewarding role, providing an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the impact of charitable funding across the Trust while working within a supportive and collaborative team.
