About this role

We're looking for a highly organised and motivated Support Services Administrator to join our Forensic Services team at Peterlee.

This is a fascinating opportunity to play a key role in supporting criminal investigations by helping to manage the submission and processing of forensic exhibits and biometric samples. Working within the Forensic Submissions team, you'll be responsible for a range of administrative and record-keeping activities that ensure forensic evidence is managed accurately, securely and in line with legislative requirements.

As part of a busy and supportive team, you'll work closely with investigating officers, forensic service providers and external partners to ensure forensic submissions are processed efficiently and that the integrity of exhibits is maintained throughout.

What you’ll do

Provide advice and support to investigating officers on forensic submission procedures, documentation and exhibit packaging.

Receive, process, dispatch and return forensic exhibits and evidence in accordance with force procedures.

Process DNA samples and associated records in line with legislative requirements and national timescales.

Record and manage forensic results, invoices and associated information, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.

Maintain accurate records and management information to support the monitoring and evaluation of forensic submissions.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including forensic service providers and national agencies, to resolve issues and support operational policing.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures within the Forensic Submissions team.

Keep up to date with changes in legislation, national guidance and forensic working practices.
