Duties as General Cover Teacher

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas
  • Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
  • Support learning and achievement across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes and student progress

Ideal General Cover Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience
  • Experience working within a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects using provided lesson plans
  • Flexible, adaptable, and confident approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
