Who Are We?

We’re part of the global Tata Group, and Tata Steel UK is leading the way in sustainable steel production. With a landmark £1.5 billion investment at our Port Talbot site, we’re not just transforming our operations - we’re shaping the future of green manufacturing in the UK.

Last week marked a proud milestone: the launch of a new Electric Arc Furnace, symbolizing a bold step into a cleaner, more sustainable era for British industry. This development supports jobs, fuels innovation, and reflects our deep-rooted commitment to responsible industrial leadership.

This initiative is part of Tata Group’s broader investment in the UK, across sectors like steel, automotive, and technology - demonstrating a strong and enduring partnership with this country.

About Our Trostre Site

At Tata Steel UK, our packaging business based at Trostre is the UK’s only manufacturer of steel packaging. We play a vital role in supplying high-quality steel to the UK, European, and global markets. Each year, Trostre transforms 400,000 tonnes of premium steel into packaging materials for food, aerosols, and other specialty applications used in everyday life.

We’re proud to deliver the world-class, sustainable steel packaging that today’s customers demand. It’s not just what we do - it’s why we exist.
