Main Purpose and

Scope of the Job

The main responsibility of the Kitchen Assistant is to assist in the preparation of food served in the store. You will be required to work with Kitchen Team in accomplishing the daily food requirements by complying with the Company’s quality, safety and sanitation regulations. The Kitchen Assistant will be required to prepare the food menu and maintain the cleanliness in the kitchen area as directed by the Head Chef and on occasions following recipes.

Key Responsibilities

· Follow instructions from Head Chef and Shop Manager.

· Understand and follow all SOP’s for cooking equipment.

· Understand the quality attributes (smell, taste, texture, color, particulate size, etc.) of the food.

· Check for the quality of ingredients handled and report possible problems immediately to the Head Chef and Shop Manager.

· Duties include but are not limited to: preparing Sushi rolls, making Sushi rolls, preparing vegetables, washing all utensils, pots, and any equipment used in the kitchen and assisting Head Chef when required.

· Responsible for making sure all food meet HACCP expectations.

· Comply with rules and regulations in Korea Foods; Employee Handbook, health and safety manual.

· Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

· Any other reasonable management instruction or request.

Person Specification

· A can-do professional and positive attitude;

· Must be reliable, punctual, and fully committed to providing excellent service to our customers at all times;

· To be aware, adhere to and understand Food Hygiene regulations, personal safety procedures including the handling and use of knives and machinery. Basic Hygiene Level 2 qualification would be beneficial.

· Accurately complete any paperwork associated with duties

· Establish good working relationships with other team members

· To work on own initiative with accuracy and commitment, coaching and training others as required.

· To follow, any reasonable instruction given by Head Chef or management.

· Organised with the ability to multi-task and good attention to detail
