About this role

Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and evolving finance team within a well-established organisation.

Your new role

As a Finance Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the company's local and statutory reporting requirements while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems. You will take ownership of the month-end close process through to the first review stage, ensuring journals, reconciliations, supporting schedules and reporting outputs are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. A key part of the role will involve managing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving outstanding items in a timely manner. You will also support both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, assisting with supplier accounts, customer account reconciliations and allocation activities. Additionally, you will maintain intercompany and related party reporting, ensuring balances are fully reconciled and confirmed each month, while liaising with Treasury regarding intercompany loans and derivatives reporting. Alongside your core accounting responsibilities, you will support internal and external audits, assist with ad hoc reporting requirements and actively contribute to financial process improvements. You will become a key user of finance systems, helping to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and support the wider business through change and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in a financial accounting, management accounting or finance specialist position, with strong balance sheet reconciliation and month-end reporting experience. You will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex financial issues and resolve them effectively. Strong systems skills are essential, and experience of ERP and finance systems such as Miles, Dataflow, SAP, Oracle or similar would be advantageous. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and work accurately to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills are important, as you will be working closely with internal stakeholders, external auditors and third-party advisors. Most importantly, you will be proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement, with a desire to enhance financial controls and deliver high-quality financial information.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will have the opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where you can make a genuine impact within the finance function. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to business-critical projects and process improvements. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, excellent exposure across the wider finance function and the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial finance skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.
