About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, developing servicewhich has a systemic underpinning, offering NICE concordant systemic therapy for eating disorders as its core intervention. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Psychologists within the team and other team members, contributing to the delivery of high quality, evidence-based assessment and treatments. The role will primarily involve assisting clinicians with aspects of assessment and supporting treatment. The post holder will be involved in tasks related to data management, audit and clinically related administration (e.g. preparing therapeutic materials, scoring psychometric measures).

The growing specialist multi-disciplinary team is made up of psychiatrists, nurses, systemic psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, a consultant paediatrician and a dietician. The service also hosts students from nursing, undergraduate psychology courses, trainee clinical psychologists, and medical trainees, fostering a welcoming culture with a focus on learning and development within the service. Team working is held at the core of the service with a range of processes to ensure individual team members feel supported in their work, including weekly team meetings and case discussion and fortnightly systemic case consultation. This support is all in addition to supervision with a Clinical Psychologist.

The service works closely with local Tier 4 services to ensure well-supported transitions to and from intensive day programmes or specialist eating disorder units. In addition, the service has good links with the local CAMHS teams across the five boroughs of South West London, enabling effective and joined-up working where necessary. As a service we have strong working relationships with our other CAMHS services including CECS, DBT and AOT.

The team operate mainly core hours 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and the work is mostly conducted out of the community clinic with occasional exceptions e.g. observations and supported meals at home; visits to paediatric or tier 4 services. The team are currently managing a combination of remote working (using video calls and telephone contacts) alongside some face to face working. Despite remote working you will be welcomed into the team as the service uses Microsoft Teams to continue with all meetings, systemic consultation, CPD, and supervision.

Suitable applicants will have experience in a CAMHS setting and have some knowledge about NICE concordant treatments for eating disorders and common co-morbid disorders such as OCD, depression and anxiety.
