Looking for a well-paid Class 1 driving role with no handball, modern vehicles, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position?

The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of a leading stone worktop manufacturer based in Normanton. Due to increased seasonal demand, our client is looking for a professional, reliable Class 1 (CE) Driver to join their team, initially providing holiday and sickness cover with the potential for a long-term or permanent opportunity.

The Role

You'll be delivering premium stone kitchen worktops to regional depots, showrooms, and occasionally customer locations throughout the UK.

All products are securely loaded onto specialist A-frames by the dispatch team, meaning

✅ No handball involved

✅ Vehicles loaded and prepared for you

✅ Curtainsider work

✅ Professional transport operation

✅ Predominantly Monday to Friday work

Start times are typically between 02:00 and 04:00, although later starts may be required on occasion.

Pay & Benefits

Excellent Pay Rates

• £19.94 per hour - Monday to Friday
• £24.94 per hour - Weekend work
• All breaks paid
• Guaranteed minimum 8 hours pay per shift
• Paid induction and driving assessment
• Potential opportunity to secure a permanent position

What We're Looking For

We're seeking experienced and professional drivers who take pride in their work and understand the importance of delivering safely, compliantly, and on time.

Essential Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (CE) Licence
• Minimum 6 months' active Class 1 driving experience
• Experience operating articulated vehicles and curtainsider trailers
• Strong load security and strapping skills
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to accommodate early starts
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Normanton

Compliance & Professional Standards

Our client operates a highly professional fleet with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Drivers are expected to

• Maintain excellent tachograph and Working Time Directive standards
• Use Microlise driver management systems as part of normal operations
• Adhere to company policies and KPI requirements

Licence Criteria

• Maximum 6 minor penalty points
• No DR, DG or DD endorsements
