Job Information
This is a mobile engineering role working on a PFI contract around 7 secondary schools around Luton, Reading and Hertfordshire.
We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer with fabric and plumbing skill sets.
UK driving license is required.
-Complete all Reactive Fabric tasks & support with any other reactive tasks where required
-Complete PPMs for statutory, mandatory and routine PPM's on time
-Escort Mitie subcontractors where required
-Br proactive in finding and fixing jobs
-Support with attending to emergencies such as leaks, AHU fails needing resets, make safes of job
-Review faults from the BMS team where required
-Carry out instructions as necessary, on any additional works or specific requirements generated through the Mitie management.
-Reactive attendance to breakdowns and minor fabric repairs.
-Contact suppliers for material orders and pass to helpdesk
-Communication & liaison with suppliers, heldpdesk, the engineering supervisot and contract maanager
-Communication for parts & repair requirements, in association with Fabric tasks.
Main Duties
-Repair all Fabric tasks & highlight major defects to management/Helpdesk & implement quotations for repairs, as required.
-Reactive attendance to breakdowns and minor fabric repairs.
-Undertake reactive & PPM tasks, which will include fabric, plumbing, and visual checks of equipment
-Communication & liaison with suppliers & specialist contractors for parts & repair requirements, in association with Fabric tasks.
-Identification & reporting of any Fabric defects or faults, which will have a detrimental effect on the building environment & will require action by the maintenance team.
-Completion of paperwork for works undertaken, plus any additional check sheets.
-Complete job sheets where requested
-Identity tasks which are in fault due to school user damage as opposed to wear and tear
-Report user damage to the helpdesk so they can complete a damage form
-Take pictures before and after of all reactive jobs and close them down on PDA
-Strive to complete tasks within SLA
-Report all task updates back to helpdesk, supervisor and contract manager
-Support with other maintenance tasks
-Complete lifecycle planned works delegated
-Escort our contractors where required
-Build relationship with teams and customers
-Have a can do attitude
-Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with in accordance with the out of hours rota at least once per month
-Collection of the data from data loggers onsite which are recording temperature and co2 and send to helpdesk
What we are looking for
-Level3 technical qualifications relevant to the trade and documentary evidence of partial vocational training (i.e. Partial Apprenticeship or NVQ 2 with an action plan for completion to NVQ Level 3). Evidence of Basic Adult skills qualification or documented action plan to achieve.
-Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and the management of safe systems of work associated with the role and work environment.
-Not less than 2 years post qualification experience
-Able to represent MITIE effectively at both internal and external supervisory meetings.
-PASMA trained
-Technically astute.
-Self-Motivated and able to work under own initiative
-Good verbal and written communication skills
-Good interpersonal skills
-Can do positive attitude
-Someone who sees the end goal and works as part of a team to get therQualified to City & Guilds or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role
· Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment
- Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables,
- Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
· Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
· Strong customer care focus.
· Good communication skills.
· Proactive
· Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
· Capable of completing essential paperwork in accurate and timely manner.
