About this role
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious individual to join our team of cardiac physiologists. The post will be split between echocardiography and non-invasive cardiology. Your focus in adult transthoracic echocardiography will be in acquiring the skills to perform the standard minimum dataset to a high level, while your non-invasive cardiology commitment will give you an opportunity to strengthen your core skills as a cardiac physiologist in areas such as Holter analysis, exercise and pharmacological stress testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing and stress echocardiography. You will be a part of making a measurable difference to echocardiography delivery across the organisation and for our cardiology patients. We are a friendly, vibrant and diverse BSE-accredited department, collectively performing around 40,000 echocardiograms each year on all ages. Our team are involved in a wide range of specialist services including congenital and paediatric echocardiography, TOE, stress echo, and physiologist-led clinics. We pride ourselves on actively supporting continual professional development through educational and mentoring sessions, regular MDT-style teaching meetings, and supporting external course attendance. Our department operates Monday to Saturday. Full time staff work 5 days per week. You may be involved in Saturday and bank holiday working on a rotational basis. You will be required to work at some of our satellite clinics on occasion, such as at our Community Diagnostic Centre at the Royal South Hants Hospital.
