Millison Chase Limited is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Drivers for ongoing Fresh Produce Collection and Distribution work with one of our leading food logistics clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional Class 1 Night Drivers looking for regular, ongoing work transporting fresh produce from farms, growers and food producers to Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs), Customer Distribution Centres (CDCs), packing facilities and distribution hubs across the UK.

The role involves operating modern temperature-controlled refrigerated articulated vehicles with box trailers, ensuring fresh produce is transported safely while maintaining the cold chain throughout every journey. Drivers can expect a mixture of farm collections, RDC deliveries and return collections depending on the daily route.

Routes generally consist of 1 to 5 deliveries or collections per shift, using a combination of loading bays and tail lifts. Most loads are handled using pallet trucks and forklift trucks, although there is an occasional element of light handball when delivering produce to customer locations.

This is a night operation running Sunday to Thursday, with start times varying depending on the route. Some routes are double-manned, allowing the operation to complete extra-long distance journeys while ensuring drivers return to the depot at the end of every shift. All working hours are paid, meaning you are paid for every hour you are in the vehicle, with shifts planned fully in accordance with Driver's Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and all current UK transport legislation.

Responsibilities;

Collecting fresh produce directly from farms and growers

Delivering produce to RDCs, CDCs, packing facilities and distribution hubs

Completing between 1 and 5 deliveries or collections per shift

Operating refrigerated articulated Class 1 vehicles with box trailers

Using loading bays, tail lifts and pallet trucks where required

Carrying out light manual handling when necessary

Completing daily vehicle and trailer safety checks

Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork

Ensuring temperature-controlled products remain compliant throughout transport

Following Driver's Hours and Tachograph Regulations

Delivering excellent customer service at every collection and delivery point
