We are looking for a friendly, reliable Female Support Worker to work with our 12 year old daughter in the community and at home.
She has learning disabilities and is non-verbal but able to communicate her needs. She also has epilepsy (absence seizures controlled via daily medication which you would not need to administer).
“I am a happy, smiley girl who loves being active and outdoors. I enjoy spending time with people who are kind, calm and fun. I enjoy keeping busy and active and no two days are the same. As my PA, you will spend time with me doing fun things like going to the playground, swimming, climbing and enjoying the outdoors. I need time and your help so I can understand things but I am good at communicating my needs in my own way, including using some verbal communication, mainly saying yes or no. My PA will build a lovely relationship with me and enjoy sharing fun activities together. My family are friendly and supportive and want you to feel comfortable and valued in your job.”
Support with toileting, changing her clothes and administering epilepsy medication in an emergency will be needed.
You should be experienced, a driver with your own car. Taking her out on public transport may be required too.
This would be a lovely role for the right person.
