About this role

To lead on infection prevention and control by conducting regular audits, ensuring the clinical team adheres to infection control policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines, and implementing improvements where required to maintain high standards of patient safety and quality of care. To undertake chronic disease management according to relevant qualifications (i.e. asthma, diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, COPD), incorporating progress monitoring, response to treatment, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and promoting the preventative aspects of nursing practice Administer injections including baby vaccinations and travel injections as per patient group direction. Educate parents to encourage full childhood immunisation for their children to ensure vaccination targets are met. To ensure all clinical domains for quality outcome framework are met by completing annual reviews Cervical cytology clinics Contraception advice To facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary education within the practice. To support students of any discipline undertaking a work placement at the practice. BP monitoring Urinalysis Assist other clinical members when necessary. Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the Practice or external services Undertake wound care within capabilities. Undertake ECGs Take part in our annual flu campaign and clinics (out of hours clinics will be required during flu season To advise and advertise health campaigns within the practice with support from the practice admin team and reception.
