Job Description
We are recruiting a field-based ER advisor to work with our Operations Team helping to provide expert advice and guidance on complex, fast-paced casework, ensuring timely and compliant resolutions across a range of Employee Relation matters.
Core role responsibilities will include the following
- Be the main point of contact for providing ER advice and guidance whilst managing a portfolio of caseloads.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Colleagues across the business including Leeds Support Centre, Home Managers and Regional Management teams.
- Ensure the provision of advice to all managers regarding all aspects of employment procedures, resulting in both a commercial and pragmatic approach to employee relations.
- Through active management of cases, support the reduction of sickness absence throughout the company (including short-term & long-term sickness)
- Support with Company key performance indicators which relate to case work, including sickness absence, grievances, and investigations.
- Manage referrals to regulatory bodies, escalating cases and/or seeking guidance when required.
- Produce, collate, and analyse reports monthly to spot trends and reduce future workplace risks
- Support and coach Home Managers to confidently manage day-to-day people issues
- Support and coach Home Managers to confidently lead investigations and prepare investigation reports
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law
- Support with ER projects and initiatives when required
The successful candidate
- Holds a CIPD level 3 qualification or above
- Can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to differing audiences
- Can prepare accurate written correspondence, with a focus on attention to detail
- Have a can-do attitude and the ability to exercise initiative
- Have demonstrable organisational skills
- Possess advanced Microsoft Word, Excel skills – with a high degree of accuracy and speed required in all tasks
- Be able to prioritise tasks and to manage conflicting demands on time and resources, to deliver objectives
- Demonstrate high level of confidentiality
- Be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team
We are especially keen to hear from individuals who can demonstrate
- Expert advice and guidance on complex, fast-paced ER casework, ensuring timely and compliant resolutions across a range of Employee Relation matters.
- Interpret and advise on ER policies and procedures, supporting managers to apply them consistently and effectively in line with best practice and employment law.
- Manage a varied caseload including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues within a dynamic care environment.
- Previous experience within a care setting, experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness to travel, predominantly across the Northeast, with occasional national travel as required.
