Enforcement Officer - 18548

We are seeking a confident and professional Enforcement Officer to support Reading Borough Council in a hybrid role focused on fly-tipping investigations and litter enforcement across the borough. Working 40 hours per week on a rota basis, you will patrol designated areas, investigate environmental offences, gather evidence, issue Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate, and maintain accurate enforcement records. The role involves engaging with residents, businesses, and visitors, providing guidance on environmental regulations, and representing both the council and the company in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and investigative skills, the ability to work independently and handle challenging situations calmly, basic IT proficiency, and experience in enforcement, security, investigations, customer service, or another public-facing role. Applicants must have access to their own vehicle, be willing to travel throughout Reading Borough, and be able to pass a Basic DBS check.
