What you will do

Assessment
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with disabilities.
•
Equipment Provision
Assess, recommend, and review specialist equipment to support independence and safety.
•
Adaptations
Provide recommendations and oversee the provision of minor adaptations to meet individual needs.
•
Intervention Planning
Develop personalised action and intervention plans designed to maximise independence and minimise risk.
•
Multi-Agency Working
Work closely with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies to deliver holistic support.

Risk Management
Identify risks and implement practical solutions that promote wellbeing and accessibility.
•
Review and Monitoring
Monitor outcomes and review interventions to ensure they remain effective and appropriate.
•
Documentation
Maintain accurate records, reports, and assessments in accordance with HCPC standards and organisational policies.

Family Support
Provide advice and guidance to families and carers to help them access appropriate resources and services.
Qualifications / Requirements
•
Occupational Therapy Qualification
Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
•
Registration
Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
•
Children's Services Experience
Previous experience working with children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
•
Assessment Skills
Strong experience undertaking equipment assessments and adaptation recommendations.
•
Knowledge
Understanding of disability, child development, and person-centred practice.
•
Communication Skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
•
Multi-Agency Working
Proven ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
•
Organisational Skills
Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
