What you will do

  • Lead, supervise, and manage a team of Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners, delivering key safeguarding services.
  • Oversee safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 to ensure timely and effective interventions.
  • Provide reflective supervision, case oversight, performance management, and ongoing professional support to staff.
  • Ensure high-quality assessments, risk management plans, and safeguarding outcomes for adults at risk are delivered consistently.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of contact for complex safeguarding cases, offering expert guidance and decision-making support.
  • Maintain excellent communication with service users, families, and other stakeholders to promote collaborative safeguarding practices.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and continuous improvement of the safeguarding team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

A degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent recognised qualification. Evidence of continuing professional development is essential, with management or leadership training being desirable.

Registration and Compliance

Current registration with Social Work England is a must.

Experience

Significant post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care safeguarding services and proven experience supervising or managing qualified social work professionals.
