About this role
FJA are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering team, working both from our workshop and at client sites across the UK.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out engineering assembly, installation, maintenance and testing activities on a wide range of food and pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities
Carry out engineering assembly activities on a wide range of food and pharmaceutical processing equipment.
Assemble, strip down, rebuild and maintain machinery within the workshop and at customer sites.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, ensuring components are built to the required tolerances and specifications.
Build intricate mechanical equipment to designated quality standards.
Carry out testing procedures on a variety of equipment in accordance with company procedures.
Complete all documentation accurately and follow company instructions and processes.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and on customer sites.
Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
Travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
Undertake any other duties as requested by management.
The
Successful Mechanical Fitter Must Have
Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience within mechanical manufacturing engineering.
Proven experience assembling and maintaining machinery within the food and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and travel requirements.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
Experience working on customer sites within regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience testing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
