About the Role

We are looking for experienced female Dementia Care Assistants who are drivers to join our London care team.

You will support adults living with dementia in their own homes, helping them manage daily routines, remain connected to their communities and continue doing the things that matter to them.

This is more than a care role.

It is an opportunity to provide reassurance when someone feels confused, companionship when they feel isolated and respectful support when everyday tasks become difficult.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Dementia Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include

Delivering personalised care based on each individual’s needs, preferences, routines and life history

Supporting people at different stages of dementia

Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and other personal care

Providing continence support with dignity and sensitivity

Supporting catheter and stoma care where required

Prompting, assisting with and safely administering medication in line with care plans

Preparing meals and supporting good nutrition and hydration

Encouraging independence and participation in everyday activities

Providing meaningful companionship and emotional reassurance

Supporting individuals experiencing memory loss, confusion or anxiety

Responding calmly and professionally to distressed behaviour or behaviours that challenge

Using dementia-friendly communication techniques

Supporting safe mobility, transfers and moving and handling

Recognising and reporting changes in an individual’s health, behaviour or wellbeing

Keeping accurate and confidential care records

Safeguarding vulnerable adults

Working closely with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals

Maintaining professional boundaries at all times

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must

Have previous experience in Health and Social Care, preferably supporting people living with dementia

Hold a valid UK driving licence

Have access to a suitable vehicle for work

Have the right to work in the UK

Hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check

Be able to provide satisfactory employment references

Have good spoken and written communication skills

Be willing to complete all required training

Be available to travel between service users’ homes in London

Due to the intimate personal care requirements and the needs of specific service users, this position is open to female applicants only where an occupational requirement applies under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
