About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to support individuals in and around the LA6 2LP area.
You will provide personalised care in accordance with each service user’s care plan, preferences and individual needs.
This role is about more than completing daily tasks. You will provide reassurance, companionship and practical support that enables people to live safely and confidently in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include
Delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
Providing respectful continence support
Supporting catheter and stoma care where required
Prompting, assisting with and safely administering medication
Supporting people living with dementia
Supporting older adults and individuals with physical disabilities
Supporting individuals with learning disabilities
Providing palliative and end-of-life care where required
Responding calmly to distress or behaviours that challenge
Assisting with safe moving and handling
Preparing meals and supporting nutrition and hydration
Providing companionship and emotional support
Encouraging independence and participation in everyday activities
Monitoring and reporting changes in health or wellbeing
Maintaining accurate and confidential care records
Safeguarding vulnerable adults
Communicating with families, colleagues and healthcare professionals
Maintaining professional boundaries at all times
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has
Previous experience working in Health and Social Care
Experience providing personal care
A good understanding of person-centred care, dignity and safeguarding
Confidence supporting adults with a range of care needs
Strong communication and listening skills
A calm, patient and compassionate approach
Good observation and record-keeping skills
The ability to follow care plans and company procedures
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team
Reliability, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility
The right to work in the UK
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check
Willingness to complete mandatory training and ongoing professional development
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required due to travel between service users’ homes.
Working Pattern and Days
Full-time and part-time hours available
Flexible shift patterns
Morning, afternoon and evening shifts
Weekend and bank holiday availability may be required
School-hours working may be considered, depending on service-user needs and rota availability
Rotas will be provided in advance where possible
Flexibility to cover additional shifts is desirable
Travel between service users’ homes may be required
