A little more about the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Swimming Coach to join our BOBSC team. This role is ideal for an ambitious coach with a passion for athlete development and competitive success, working with swimmers striving for regional, national, and higher-level competition.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality coaching programmes that support technical excellence, physical development, and athlete wellbeing within a positive, high-performance environment.

You will be responsible for implementing high levels of guest care to ensure that the care, entertainment and satisfaction of customers is maintained at all times. You must have experience of coaching age group swimmers and be willing to cover sessions and attend weekend meets. You must hold the ASA or STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification. In addition you must hold the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification and be able to pass BPL's water safety test.

You'll complete daily tasks and welcome changes that help us to work better, you will be ready to jump in and help customers or your teammates anytime. You will help to make our spaces feel warm and welcoming for all. You will own your performance and work hard to meet your daily tasks and goals. You will always find new ways to make work better and help people to feel good!

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate structured training sessions aligned to long-term athlete development principles
  • Coach performance-level swimmers across a range of age groups and abilities
  • Prepare swimmers for competitions, including race strategy and performance analysis
  • Monitor and track swimmer progress, providing feedback and goal setting
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching team to support squad objectives
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional training environment
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff
  • Support squad administration where required (attendance, competition entries, reports)
