About this role
We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled Laptop Technician to join our refurbishment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and refurbishing laptops to a high standard, ensuring every device is fully functional and ready for resale.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose hardware and software faults on laptops.
* Repair and replace faulty components (screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs, RAM, etc.).
* Install and configure Windows 10/11, drivers, and required software.
* Perform BIOS updates and firmware upgrades.
* Carry out full functional testing and quality control checks.
* Clean and refurbish laptops to company standards.
* Wipe data securely using approved software.
* Record repair details and update internal systems.
* Work towards daily production and quality targets.
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
* Experience repairing laptops and desktop computers.
* Good knowledge of Windows operating systems.
* Experience replacing laptop components and diagnosing faults.
* Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues independently.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, and other major brands.
* Knowledge of data wiping software.
* Experience in IT refurbishment or an ITAD environment.
* CompTIA A+, Microsoft certification, or similar qualification (preferred but not essential).
